Celebrating a major step forward in clean energy, community revitalization, and Maine’s forest-based economy.
Congratulations to Castlerock Biofuels, The Town of Millinocket, Maine, One North and Our Katahdin for their partnership to locate a new renewable fuel facility at the One North industrial park at the former GNP mill property in Millinocket. SME is excited to be providing civil engineering and Brownfields consulting for this project which is expected to bring jobs, resources, and new technologies to northern Maine:
Castlerock Biofuels has selected One North in Millinocket as the site for a new renewable fuel oil facility, marking a major step forward in revitalizing our community and strengthening Maine’s forest products industry. Using advanced thermal processing technology, this facility will convert renewable logging residue into up to 20 million gallons of Fast Pyrolysis Bio-Oil (RFO®) annually—bringing new jobs and economic growth to the region.
This is a proud moment for Millinocket’s future! Read more about this transformational project here: https://lnkd.in/e6_ie2xQ
