Mike Lyford

Mike joined SME in 2024 as a senior transmission designer/senior field engineer in the firm’s Power and Utility Services team. Mike has over 30 years of experience providing engineering support and quality control inspection.

His areas of expertise include transmission line and substation design, vegetative maintenance for transmission line corridors, managing the operations and improvements of electric utility facilities, and contract coordination for civil construction projects that include wastewater treatment facilities, roadways, and water and sewer infrastructure.

Mike has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Roger Williams College in Rhode Island.

Mike is a Registered Master Maine Guide and enjoys exploring the woods and waters of Maine with family and friends.
