About Mike Leatherbee
Mike joined SME’s Industrial Hygiene division in 2023, bringing a background in property systems management, building maintenance, regulatory compliance, and field sampling and testing. In his role as an industrial hygienist Mike performs a wide variety of tasks such as performing inspections, collecting and analyzing environmental samples, and monitoring abatement projects involving asbestos, lead, mercury, and other hazardous building materials for diverse clients, ranging from public school systems to large industrial facilities. His skills and experience are useful in addressing the ever-changing needs of client projects.
Mike has a B.S. in biology from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada.
Outside of work, Mike is an avid swimmer, ice skater, and skier. He’s also an excellent chef who enjoys trying new cooking techniques and recipes.
